on all fours
Definition
(Expression) (Law; informal to standard); a lawyer's or judge's way of saying that the situation being considered matches a blacklaw situation or a case precedent in every (essential) respect.Usage: Though every situation can probably be differentiated from another, one is considered to be "on all fours" if the distinction (like, usually, jurisdiction if the law's the same) is inconsequential.
